Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and Weight Loss

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for women involves supplementing the body with estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, or a combination of these to relieve symptoms of hormonal imbalance, especially (but not only) during perimenopause and menopause. It can help reduce hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness, and bone loss. HRT supports libido, mood, metabolic resilience, HRT is personalized based on a woman's health history, symptoms, and goals, and may be delivered through a variety of ways. At this time, we provide HRT to adult women only.

Hormone Replacement Therapy

Weightloss

We offer both FDA approved and compounded GLP-1 weight loss therapy. GLP-1 weight loss therapy uses medications like semaglutide, tirzepatide, or a compounded version to mimic naturally occurring hormones that regulate appetite and blood sugar.

GLP-1 therapy IS a form of hormone therapy. These treatments help reduce hunger, slow gastric emptying, and improve insulin sensitivity, leading to decreased calorie intake and sustainable weight loss.

A Mindful Approach to Well Care

How is Mindful Growth’s approach different?

Most clinics who offer weight loss therapy or hormone therapy run basic labs before treatment — and frankly, they’re using guess work. Intensive lab work is what sets Mindful Growth apart. Labs are our weapon of excellence. Thorough lab work allows us to:

  • Treat the individual person

  • Uncover the root causes behind weight loss resistance

  • Track transformational change with more than a scale

Does that mean I’ll have to do even more labs later?

Yes. We’re playing the long game.

What is the difference between commercial FDA approved GLP-1 and a compounded GLP-1?

Compounded GLP-1 medications are custom-made formulations—prepared by licensed pharmacies when commercial options are unavailable to or not tolerated by the patient. These alternatives can offer similar benefits and may be more affordable, but they are not FDA-approved, meaning their consistency can vary.

While effective, compounded versions are not FDA-approved and may vary slightly in formulation or delivery.

How can hormone therapy help my mental health?

Hormones play a central role in regulating mood, cognition, sleep, and emotional resilience, and imbalances can contribute to anxiety, depression, irritability, and cognitive fog. Studies show that estrogen can act as an effective antidepressant in hormonally vulnerable women, and that estrogen positively modulates serotonin and dopamine pathways! HRT is also shown to improve verbal memory and mood stability, and balanced testosterone is shown to improve energy, well-being, and sexual interest, as well as reduce depressive symptoms.

I’ve been on a GLP-1, but they didn’t work for me. What now?

Many individuals who find it difficult to lose weight—even while using GLP-1 medications—may have undiagnosed hormonal imbalances that fuel fatigue, persistent cravings, or stubborn fat storage. The Mindful Growth first step is to do intensive lab work before starting GLP-1 or HRT. Our panels help explain why some patients don’t lose weight even on GLP-1s—and we address the root cause.
